Overview
Kechive is a home-inventory app for personal and household use. It uses Apple CloudKit to store and sync account, personal-inventory, and household-shared information. Kechive does not sell personal data, show advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Information Kechive handles
Depending on how you use Kechive, the app or support website may handle:
- Your display name, email address, and account or user identifiers.
- Household membership, ownership, roles, and invite-related information.
- Room, box, and item names; notes; tags; quantities; positions; and photos.
- Settings and technical information needed to operate, sync, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
- Messages, contact details, screenshots, device information, and other content you choose to send through support or feedback.
- If you explicitly enable an AI feature, your question and the relevant inventory context needed to answer it.
Please do not send passwords, access codes, invite codes, or sensitive inventory details in a support request.
Where information is stored
- On your device: Kechive may keep local app data and settings so the app can work and synchronize.
- Apple CloudKit private database: Personal inventory, account data, settings, and related records may be stored in a database associated with your account.
- Apple CloudKit public or shared records: Household membership and collaborative household content may be stored in records designed to be available to authorized household participants.
Apple operates CloudKit under its own terms and privacy practices. Data may also pass through service providers used to deliver support requests.
Household sharing and visibility
Shared household inventory and membership information are visible to household members according to their roles. This can include rooms, boxes, items, notes, photos, membership information, and changes made by members. Share invite codes only with people you intend to join the household.
Personal inventory is separate from shared household inventory unless you choose to move or add content to a shared household area.
Optional AI features
Kechive sends data to an AI provider only when an AI feature is enabled and you choose to use it. The default compatible endpoint may be OpenAI. Your message and relevant inventory context may be sent to that provider to generate a response.
If Kechive lets you configure another compatible endpoint, that provider receives the information you send and may follow its own privacy policy and retention practices. Review the provider’s policy before enabling or using the feature. Do not rely on AI output as a complete or authoritative inventory record.
Advertising, sale, tracking, and analytics
Kechive does not sell personal data, use personal data for advertising, or perform cross-app tracking. The current Kechive support website does not include third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. If these practices change, this policy will be updated before the change applies where required.
Why information is used
Information is used to provide accounts, store and synchronize inventory, support household collaboration, maintain service reliability and security, respond to support requests, and provide optional features you choose to use.
Account deletion and retention
You can request deletion in the app at Kechive → Settings → Account → Delete Account. See the Delete Account guide for details.
Deletion may require network access and CloudKit processing. Kechive deletes the account profile, personal inventory and images, personal settings, and local account data associated with the deletion request. Shared household content may remain available to remaining household members. Minimal technical records may be retained as needed to propagate deletion, maintain service integrity, preserve shared data, resolve disputes, or meet applicable obligations. Backup or synchronized copies may take additional time to expire.
Security
Kechive uses platform services and reasonable safeguards intended to protect information. No storage or transmission method is guaranteed to be completely secure. Kechive does not claim that all data is end-to-end encrypted or accessible only on one device.
Children and parent-managed accounts
Kechive may support an account managed by a parent or guardian where permitted by the app and applicable platform rules. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use, household invitations, inventory content, optional AI features, and support requests. If you believe a child provided information without appropriate permission, use the support form so the situation can be reviewed.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can manage inventory and sharing inside the app, choose whether to enable optional AI features, leave or manage a household according to your role, and delete your account. For access, correction, deletion, or other privacy questions, use the Kechive support form or email [email protected].
Policy updates
This policy may change as Kechive’s features or legal requirements change. The effective and last-updated dates will be revised, and material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel.
